What is Valida?
Cellulose is the most abundant natural and biodegradable polymer on Earth, forming the backbone of all plant life. Unlike conventional cellulose materials, Valida is 100% mechanically processed without chemical modifications or solvents, preserving its natural purity. With a naturality score of 0.99 (ISO 16128) and certification as readily biodegradable in marine waters, Valida can be used as a sustainable alternative solution to artificial compounds used in paint and coatings and offers unique benefits and hence contributing to meet new stringent VOC regulation and ensure a safer environment for consumers.
Valida has an ultra-fine and unique 3D network structure with extremely high surface area, capable of strong stabilisation performance and mechanical reinforcement. Valida’s natural composition ensures exceptional compatibility with electrolytes and broad pH tolerance, making it an ideal ingredient for high-performance paints and coatings formulations.
Valida can be used in applications such as elastomeric roof coating, pigment slurry, waterborne interior and exterior wall paint, waterborne wood coating, multicolour stone paint, insulation coating, decorative plaster, silica paint, silicate mineral paint, thick coatings and, intumescent/fire-resistant coating.
Product benefits
Enhances formulation stability by suspending fillers, pigments and particles, reducing and even eliminating phase separation and stabilising emulsions with minimal viscosity increase.
Valida enhances physical properties of high build coatings such as adhesion, tensile strength and eliminates mud cracking.
Boosts Rheology improving application, spray-ability, thixotropy and anti-sagging.
Enhances surface quality of dry paint by boosting stain resistance and dirt pick-up resistance.
Application and Uses
Get more details on how to use Valida.
Roof Coating
Valida enhances rheology, tensile strength, and adhesion of Elastomeric & Cool Roof Coatings. It reduces water absorption and improves dirt pick-up resistance.
Wall Paint
Valida provides in-can stability, anti-sagging, levelling, and enhances dry coverage ratio, scratch resistance for long-lasting, high-quality finishes.
Wood Coating
Valida improves anti-sagging and anti-settling, enabling higher loading, better levelling, and stronger substrate adhesion.
