Introducing Guard Pro OHS and Guard Pro OMH
Guard Pro OHS – available in both gloss and natural versions – is a heat-sealable and cold seal compatible, high-barrier paper designed for applications such as flow-wraps, sachets and pouches. The new paper offers strong protection against oxygen, water vapour, grease and MOSH/MOAH, and is suitable for direct food contact. All this at the same time as complying with toy safety standards.
Offering similar barrier properties and also available in gloss and natural versions, Guard Pro OMH is designed for cold seal applications in order to provide a cost-effective solution where heat sealing isn’t necessary – again across a wide range of food and non-food uses.
The new papers fill a critical gap in the market by delivering high barrier performance where brands and converters previously had to turn to more expensive or less sustainable solutions.

An updated, simplified Sappi range
The latest additions to Sappi’s growing range of functional flexible packaging papers mean that there are now more than 20 different Sappi solutions to the needs of sustainably minded brand owners and converters. No surprise, then, that we recently updated the names of some of them – so as to allow customers to more easily and readily understand the solutions that they provide.
Today, the Sappi range of functional flexible packaging papers comes in three clear, simple categories:
• Heat-sealable papers carry the brand name Seal
• Barrier papers have the brand name Guard.
• High-barrier papers are known as Guard Pro
The new family categories intend to help our customers to understand at a glance the solutions our different papers offer. They do not reflect any formulation, production or performance changes.
